My name is Nancy Chau, LMFT #115470. I earned a Master of Arts (M.A) in Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited graduate program at the Palo University in Palo Alto, CA, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of California, Davis.
I am a dedicated marriage and family therapist with extensive experience working in clinical, community-based, school-based, and psychiatric settings. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with families and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and age groups.
As a child, I grew up lacking the sense of love and security from my family, which led me to find my own guidance through rough and dark times. When I became a young adult, I worked with adolescents and young adults who faced similar challenges and lacked the guidance I had needed to become who I am today. This exposure inspired me to become a therapist, with the goal of providing those who lacked what I had growing up with the tools, guidance, support, and inspiration they need to overcome their own rough and dark times. I believe that when we want something or aspire to become someone, it's not about the time it takes but the mentality to keep striving that will get us there.
I excel at building connections through my genuineness and honest personality that serve as the foundation for meaningful therapeutic work. I believe that the healing process begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. Through our relationship, I aim to help you develop healthy interactions in your own life, providing a safe and non-judgmental space where you can gain the confidence needed to express and share feelings you may struggle to communicate elsewhere.
With a genuine desire to guide individuals to grow, strive, and thrive, I am here to help you find the support you deserve. My directive approach encourages you to apply the insights and skills gained in therapy to make meaningful changes in your life, working towards your ideal vision of well-being.

My clinical areas of interests and experience includes depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, stress management, parenting, behavioral issues, family conflict, self-esteem, anger, grief/loss, and trauma.

I employ a variety of evidence-based modalities tailored to meet each client's unique needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. This versatile approach enables clients to effectively manage and overcome challenges.
